Education without doubt is essential for the growth and progress of any nation on earth, in fact it is the driving force for global civilization. So much value is attached to education that every parent wants it for their kids, parents go extra mile to ensure their children get educated. However, it is imperative to state that the major aim for education is to gain or acquire knowledge.African parents ensure their children are educated for different purposes and it is a pity to note that most African parents work really hard to ensure their offspring get educated so they can become rich or attain monetary wealth after graduating from tertiary institutions, it is only a few that understand the basis for education and are aware of the fact that education is a solid foundation for a bright future in some cases.

Needless to say, education is a great tool but does not guarantee wealth. To attain wealth, you need to do a job with high pay or invest in lucrative businesses, one cannot gain riches by visiting the lecture room every day with books and pen, education is not ‘’hustle,’’ permit me to use such word in this context, it can only equip people with knowledge and ideas for making wealth but does not guarantee wealth. A lot of graduates that have ideas on making wealth but end up as lifetime salary earners hardly make money. Nature has its rules and regulations that when adhered to, whether educated or not, people can gain monetary wealth.
For instance, an uneducated man that understands natural need for hard work and is not extravagant in spending is bound to be wealthier than a graduate that does not understand this. One might argue that education gives upper hand, there is no doubting that, but a wealthy uneducated man can employ educated individuals and place them on salary to boost his business and you see a lot of graduates submitting applications due to unemployment.

In advanced countries of the world, education is not seen as guarantee for wealth, a certain skinny black boy was born in Hawaii, United States, he grew to understand that he needed education to fully equip and prepare him for the future he dreamed of, he ended up as the first black to be America’s president, Barrack Obama, you cannot find him in list of  world’s top 100 richest individuals in terms of money but he commands great influence globally. That is what education should serve, if Obama went to school for money, he would not bother about politics from the start like he did as a local organizer in Chicago for years, he probably could have ventured into business earlier, then do politics at a higher level later in his life. Does Barrack Obama lack ideas on becoming very wealthy? I do not think so because he would not be able to rule America with daft knowledge on wealth creation.

Africa seems to always remain at a level that the globe has progressed from, we have to start reasoning better. Education is very vital in all ramifications but it is important Africans start defining the purpose for education correctly. Education is great when you have a set goal for it in your life, the fact that you are educated should not pause or end your career, it should help further your career.
Going to school should not kill your dream of becoming a footballer, musician, or even a movie star, you can give your dreams extra focus when you are done schooling instead of quitting because you got a job that pays you but does not guarantee happiness for you, it is  great when you earn from what you love doing. Education should not limit us from exploring other options, it should create opportunities. THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE
